My relationship with Slauson Ave started in the 3rd grade, for my one and only year at Marcus Garvey School. I still have vivid memories of making that left turn at Overhill and coming down the hill every morning. Going to the Fox Hills Mall(never Westfield) and the Slauson Swap Meet to get Fresh! The Ladera tri-plex my family purchased in the mid 90’s at LaCienga, where my cousins lived and I would spend as much time as possible. More memories than I can count took place on Slauson. I know how important Slauson is to our community and to the city of Los Angeles. Enjoy!
